The problem is intermittent. I'm still trying to figure out what the issue is. Seems to fix itself after a refresh... until we fix it, feel free to republish the tip here, or redirect folks to our Feedburner feed. :) Thanks anyway -- I've been trying to figure out what the problem is since about 3 am this morning.

This happens to me sometimes - use phpMyAdmin (or command line if you are ultra geek) and run the repair table command - this will fix most issues.

Well, the thing about sharing is you need to share at the right places. If you find some one, or some groups at a social network site doesn't reciprocate, then maybe you need a new groups.

The same sort of goes with real life friends. Generally speaking, you don't want to constantly pick up the tab for all your friends when you go to happy hour and never see any of them do anything for you! It doesn't have to be even-steven. After all, if you are wealthy and they are poor, you'll probably offer to pick up more tabs. But at a certain point, you know if you are being taken advantage of or just pushing unwelcome stuff at people.

I do believe in the notion that you should share traffic. I can imagine that karmically, this might work out in the end to get your site more traffic. Sometimes I link to blogs that don't get much in the way of linkage and throw out some odd anchor text.

I accused MyNewHustle of touching DormEarning in one of my posts, and it just made me laugh and laugh. They're both favorite blogs of mine and they need some support.

I hope it got both of them some traffic.

It's so strange ... this month Web Urbanist has sent 13 sites over 5,000 hits each, another 20 or so over 2,000 hits and a good 50 have gotten over 1,000, but the site has only gotten two linkbacks sending over 500 hits that weren't from social media sites. I guess it's partly that a lot of sites can't send that kind of traffic? It is sad, though, because people spam the comments with their links all the time and get extra traffic that way yet the people who we send traffic to willingly usually don't even acknowledge it. OK, I'm getting jaded :)
